My name is Megan Lastner and I am from Baltimore, Maryland. I grew up playing field hockey, soccer, softball and riding horses. When I went to Bridgewater College, my passion for horses followed me and I rode on the equestrian team. During that time, I discovered another passion of physical education. I did not know that my love for people and physical activity could be combined, but I was sure glad I found out.
I graduated from Bridgewater in 2012 and went on to intern for a camp ministry called River Valley Ranch. There I learned that the job title "intern" meant your answer will always "yes". During this season of my life, I learned so many skills that I am very thankful for. One of these skills was being able to facilitate outdoor education. In this part of my job, I got to lead various groups of all ages on high adventure activities. It was so much fun.
After my year at the ranch, I landed a part time physical education job and also worked for Fellowship of Christian Athletes as an area representative. This was a crazy year filled with tons of commitments and a LOT of lessons learned. It was definitely a wild ride.
Now, I am still teaching PE part time, teaching riding lessons, and in graduate schools. In my spare time I ride my seven year old thoroughbred, work out, play my ukulele for my church worship band.
Although my life has been all over the place the one constant has been my relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the reason that I have been so blessed to have this life and has kept me joyful through it all. If you have any questions about PE, horses, or Jesus feel free to contact me. http://twitter.com/meglastner18
